Howdy folks, I am a very handsome 6-month-old Labrador Retriever mix named Tuxedo. I weigh 36 lbs and I’m already a looker, turning heads everywhere I go, dressed for any party, always wearing my tux and tail…singular in my case, and it's usually wagging! It may come as a surprise to know I was dumped and I didn't even get a Dear John letter. I was just pushed out of a car, or maybe a truck, this is Texas, so I wandered around a neighborhood trying to figure out what to do next. I guess when you look this debonair it doesn't take long to catch someone's eye and be invited inside and that's exactly what happened when a very nice lady brought me in, served me dinner, and let me sleep on her couch. I had it made in the shade, a life of luxury, lounging around eating and playing, but I should have known there was a catch. She made me go to the vet for vaccines and a neuter and now I am up for adoption! As you consider me for your family pet you should know that I am a sweet boy, kind of shy at first, but always charming and affectionate, and willing to share kisses, even on the first date. I get along great with humans and dogs and I love to play, and run some zoomies, and chew on some toys, and then play some more, I mean I’m still a puppy. When I’m all pooped out I’m snuggling beside you or in your lap if you don't mind a big oaf thinking he's a lap dog, LOL. My foster mom says I’m smart and well-behaved, already housebroken, only bark to alert, I don't mind a crate, and won't even hop over a baby gate when she wants me to stay in the kitchen/dining room area. That's where I stay when she leaves the house and I don't even fuss about it. I have food and toys to occupy my time until she comes home and then I get to go for a walk. I will be moving to Connecticut or somewhere nearby to find a family and I hear the competition is brutal… lots of dogs and puppies available out there, so I’m wearing an “Adopt Me” bandana as a subliminal message that hopefully works. Otherwise, I’ll just rely on my own merits… I’m a good boy, I’m handsome, I’m sweet, and I’m ready to make a wonderful forever dog!! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.Adoption processPlease DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption!
